Help Is At Hand
26 July 2010
Econometric forecasts indicate that the UK construction industry still faces a severe skills shortage. Focus groups have been used to elicit the collective opinions of key clients, consultants, contractors, training service providers, industry bodies and employers of all sizes. The key themes and requirements discussed by the participants are used to develop a conjoined strategy for bridging the industry's skills gap at a regional level.
It is argued that this package of mutually supportive measures could provide a transferable strategy for addressing skills deficiencies in other regions, particularly given the espoused government aspiration to devolve labour market planning activities to provincial forums and regional development agencies.
The interest is there, particularly in the up and coming renewables sector, the manpower is at hand and training providers such as MET with two state-of-the-art training facilities are more than capable of delivering effective and proactive people focussed training products to the highest possible standard.
They have developed a pro-active culture for continuous improvement that will include further industry backed training accreditations through 2010 and beyond.
Our aim is to be the UK’s leading supplier of vocational training within the sectors we serve, and as a progressive and open business, MET welcomes any questions with regard to the service we offer.
