Those who work with gas, according to BPEC will need to complete an ACS assessment every five years dependant on the areas in which they work. 17th Edition wiring regulations state that all wiring installations must be designed, constructed, inspected, tested and certified to meet with regulations, in fact from December 2010, individuals who complete the Part P Defined Scope qualification will be required to hold 17th Edition in order to apply to approval schemes. Qualified electricians should look to updating their skills to include Renewable Installation and Met. offer courses in Solar PV , Unvented Hot Water, and Solar Domestic Hot water Systems, Ground Source & Air Source Heat Pumps, Underfloor Heating, Rainwater Harvesting, Disinfection of Water Systems, Renewable Awareness and Renewable Energy Installations. All new build houses must be zero carbon by 2016 and 7 million new solar hot-water installations are estimated to be required by 2020.
