Plumbing training news: Liverpool water improvements continue

Work is continuing in Liverpool to replace old Victorian water pipes with modern plastic ones, those on plumbing training courses may be interested to learn.

The project is being carried out by United Utilities and is part of a £35 million programme to reduce water leakage and improve the quality of the resource in the city centre.

It is also hoped that businesses in Liverpool will benefit from a better supply of water when the work is completed.

The next stage of the projects will see workers move to Sparling Street and it is thought that work there could take around two weeks to complete.

John Maher, United Utilities project manager, said: "Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times … and we will do everything we can to keep disruption levels to a minimum."

In related news, Crewe residents have recently been warned by United Utilities to be on the lookout for callers claiming they have plumbing training who may try to get into homes while water works are being carried out in the area.
