People with plumbing training 'less affected by the recession'
Enrolling on a plumbing training course may be one of the best things people can to during the recession.
This is because, according to the London Evening Standard, an increasing number of white-collar employees are finding themselves and their skills redundant during the recession.
However, people with plumbing training, have a "clearly defined purpose" and a job that they control "from start to finish".
As a result, there has been an increase in the number of people enrolling on plumbing courses that they may previously have considered to be beneath them.
The news provider notes that whatever the economic climate may be, a plumber "can always hang out his shingle and fix leaks with no one else to help".
One person who does seem to have realised the benefits of plumbing training is 48-year-old Philippa Cunningham from Derby.
The Derby Telegraph reported that last October she decided to leave her job as a teacher and enrol on a plumbing course.
