New Northamptonshire homes 'may require those with electrician training'
People with electrician training could be in demand in Northamptonshire soon, if new plans to create more than 100 new homes are given the green light.
Northamptonshire NHS Trust, which was established in 2001, has put forward proposals to redevelop Rushden Hospital, which would see a total of 125 new houses and flats - as well as 60 assisted living units - created following the sale of parts of its site.
In the application for the work, a spokesperson for the organisation said that the development would offer "much-needed" investment in the region, the Northamptonshire Evening Telegraph reports.
Should the development work go ahead, the main house on the site, which was built in 1871 as a family home and has also been used as a tuberculosis facility and psychiatric hospital, would be converted into a total of ten apartments.
Work on the homes would start after a resource centre is completed and existing services are relocated to new sites.
