New London facility opens for those with plumbing training

People who have recently undertaken plumbing training courses will soon be able to practice their skills at a new facility in London.

Eltham Plumbing's new site is set to open in August and will offer visitors the chance to gain hands-on experience of real plumbing installations.

Students will be able to pay £35 per day to access the range of practice set-ups and both resident tutors and qualified plumbers will be available to offer support and advice.

Managing director of the site James Nam Tran told online industry information site FE News that he hoped the site would help plumbers to gain "valuable practical experience" to help them ply their trade in a more effective manner.

The site will be open six days a week and only closed on Sundays.

Earlier this month, the Yarmouth Mercury reported that Great Yarmouth College has celebrated the work of trainee plumbers who are among the last batch of people to be taught at its Boundary Road site.

Next year will see plumbing training courses at the seat of learning taught from the Centre for Construction and Manufacturing Technologies, which is currently being developed.
