Family save money 'with help from people with renewable energy training'
Those with renewable energy training may be interested to hear about one family that has lowered the cost of its fuel bills with the changes it made to its home.
Andrew Cook and his wife Emma own Moorlands, an 18-room Victorian mansion in the Pendle Valley, the Telegraph reports.
When they first moved in, their energy bills totalled around £11,000 a year.
However, these have now been reduced to around £6,000 per annum, even with the 40 per cent rise in gas and electricity prices.
This is due to energy-saving changes the couple made, such as a new heating system that analyses the difference between indoor and outdoor temperatures and adjusts the heating accordingly.
Mr Cook said he is "confident that our home, built nearly 150 years ago, now has more hi-tech, energy-efficient controls than the most modern new developer-built home which complies with the latest government standards".
In related news, Christ the King Roman Catholic Infant School in Coundon may require the skills of those with solar heating systems training, as it will be installing solar panels later this year, the Coventry Telegraph reported.
