Expert with plumbing training 'may be needed in Wrexham council house'

It seems as though one man could require the expertise of someone with plumbing training as he has a leak in his flat that he believes to be hazardous.

George Plant, 30, moved into his Alwen council house in June and claims that there are still a number of outstanding repairs, including a leak from the first floor toilet.

He told the Evening Leader that this causes waste to run down internal pipework and into the cupboard under the kitchen sink.

Mr Plant is worried about the health risks of the leak and spends as little time as possible in the property – preferring to stay with his parents.

He said he only used the toilet when absolutely necessary "because this leads to a mess under the kitchen sink and also creates a smell, which you pick up as soon as you walk into the house and is very embarrassing".

Mr Plant could find that he can solve his problem by enrolling on a plumbing training course, as the BBC recently reported that many people are choosing to cut out the middle man and do the job themselves during the recession.
