Electrical training news: Snowdonia firms receive smart meters
The services of those with electrical training may have been required by some businesses in Snowdonia recently.
This is because they have now had new smart meters installed so they are better able to monitor their energy consumption, eGov monitor reports.
Provided by the Society's Green Snowdonia Project and the Energy Advice Centre, it is hoped that the new devices will give the enterprises detailed information about the amount of electricity they use.
Furthermore, specially designed software has also been issued so that businesses can analyse their data and identify how to reduce carbon emissions.
Tom and Bren Jenkins, from Ynys Pandy, said that although they previously had an old version of the meter, they knew "that there was a lot we weren't getting from it".
Industry regulator Ofgem recently commented on the rollout of smart meters, claiming that they will "do away with the need for estimated bills".
