Electrical training courses 'could help property firms'

Opting to train as an electrician could help property firm staff aid their employer in surviving the ongoing effects of the global economic downturn, something one industry commentator has noted they are willing to do.

Citing a recent study by PropertyWeek.com, Paul Smith, chief executive of estate agent haart, explained that it is "no surprise" that 27.8 per cent of employees at such companies would be willing to take a pay cut to help their firm.

"It is imperative that all businesses look at ways of remaining as strong as possible during the economic downturn by reducing overall costs right across the board," he asserted.

Property management firms could find that they are able to reduce their expenditure by undertaking basic maintenance tasks following electrician training, so that they do not have to pay a third party to carry out such jobs on their buildings.

Commenting on the PropertyWeek.com survey, the site's web editor Iain O'Neill said the findings were "remarkable".
