Part P Training Course Details

OurPart P Training Coursesare aimed at people that undertake both defined and full scope electrical installation work in domestic premises.

Part P Training Course Qualifications

From 1st January 2005, any idividual or electrician carrying out fixed electrical installation work in a dwelling must comply with Part P; also, all electrical work needs to be notified to the local Building Control before work begins unless:

1. The proposed work is to be undertaken by a Competent Person (an individual or a company authorised to self-certify compliance on completion of the work); or
2. The proposed work is of a minor nature. Competent Person schemes are formally recognised by the Government as schemes whose members are judged sufficiently competent to self-certify that their work has been carried out in compliance with the Building Regulations.

New from Jan 2008, changes in the new Part P regulations include:

• Special Locations
• IP Ratings
• S.W.A. Cable Preparation
• 3-phase awareness

Trainees must have completed Part P B & C (Defined) Scope and have some electrical experience prior to starting Part P A Scope and therefore obtaining Full Scope.
